Use Google's X-Y-Z Formula ā
Googleās X-Y-Z formula is an industry best practice for crafting your resume. Itās concisely explained in this article and so I wonāt repeat exactly what it is here but Iād highly recommend applying this format to all/as many bullet points as you can.
Note that metrics and accomplishments are very important to include in your work experience bullet points but not as much in your projectsā (though if you have them thatās great). If you canāt find a metric to include, what you learned can be a substitute for the āaccomplishmentā portion. However, as much as possible, you should aim to have some metric to lend credibility for your achievements. Metrics donāt need to be extremely precise and even back-of-the-envelope type calculations to come up with metrics are okay.
One tip about including metrics is try to avoid round numbers when you can. For example āImproved latency by 19%ā seems more specifically calculated and therefore more credible than āimproved latency by 20%ā which uses a round ā20%ā. You should not lie just for the sake of not getting a non-round number, but you should also not deliberately round your numbers.
